the Codeless Code: Feedback
At breakfast the visiting novice monk sat next to one of the senior abbots. “Why are there so few women in this temple?” asked the novice monk. “Because very few girls apply for admittance anymore,” replied the abbot. “Why is that?” asked the novice monk. “Because it is widely known that most girls do not […]

The law
“Every Time You Break the Law You Pay, and Every Time You Obey the Law You Pay.” Quote from John Gardner. It’s an interesting one, that will most likely result in a longer post soon.

Have you been to this meeting?
I have the feeling that when this post is published I’ll be in a meeting that have everything to go pretty much like this one. I truly hope that we manage to find a solution that works for everyone and that is way better that what we are going into this meeting with. As Seth […]

Andrius Kovelinas
While looking for an image for a post that will be published here tomorrow around lunch (and that I ended not using) I found Andrius Kovelinas portfolio (I don’t think this is an official portfolio, but it’s the best I could get. But, the point is that if I’m ever going to spend 4 […]

Hats in a head
Everybody have more than one role in life. But most of the time we are just performing one of those roles, and change the hat we are using several times along the day. If we are lucky we sleep being just ourselves, resting, without dreaming about anything strange – sometimes one or more of our […]

Spring 2013
Today is the first day of spring. The temperature is around zero Celsius and the sun almost didn’t show up.

Catarina and the moon
17h00 and the sun is gone, the moon is high, and despite the cold it’s great outside. It’s autumn in Amusterdam.
What you (don’t) want
Most of us would like to have everything we want and nothing that we don’t want. That’s a great idea, but sometimes (should I say most of the time) it is not that simple. Some of the things we want include or imply some of the things we don’t want. When that happens how do […]
Inspiration
Writing on Starbucks The Muse doesn’t show up just because you want her to. But sometimes you can help. Change place, change the time, change the topic. I’m thinking that noisy places without company work better for me – tram and coffeeshop (the smokeless ones) are two of the successfully tested. At this moment I […]
Spending Time
Sometime I find myself spending time in useless things that I don’t really enjoy or zoning out and stay sitting somewhere bored. In one of those moments I wrote the post Spending time for Godless Faith.
Sunrise in November
Almost nine o’clock. The sun is already high in the sky. It’s now hard to believe that in a month the sun will be raising after half past nine. But it will.
The pigeon that wanted a McTasty
In a McDonald near you… OK, maybe not near you, but near me.
Music on the “plein”
Any square in Amsterdam is a good place for a small performance. And often musics and other artists start their own show. This duo was performing next to the statue of Rembrandt in the Rembrandtplein in the cold end of the autumn afternoon of this 1st of November.
Wakeup call – sugar free
Not rarely “Red bull and Coca-cola” are my wakeup call, the joint of caffeine I need in the morning to open my eyes. This week I decided that it was a good idea to try the sugar free version of it.
