iOS 7 bug allows anyone to disable Find My iPhone

9to5Mac posted a video on how to disable “Find my Phone”. The functionality is otherwise well protected and you need a password to disable it, while at the same time you need to disable Find my Phone to be able to remove a apple account, that would not let people bypass the activation lock – while the phone is connected to an iCloud (the online sign in and storage thingy from Apple) account, it can’t be activated with a different account. But this bug allows users to bypass this security measure.

You can protect your phone against this bug by having a screen lock pass code with a small activation time – it will mean that you’ll have to type your code every time you want to use your phone, but other also don’t have access to this controls that allow them to steal your phone.
